This broader legislative package will encompass three full-year appropriations bills, which address military construction, veterans affairs, the legislative branch, and the Department of Agriculture. Notably, it includes $203.5 million earmarked for enhancing security measures for Congress members, alongside $852 million allocated for the U.S. Capitol Police, as detailed by Senator Patty Murray, a leading Democratic appropriator.
However, the deal does not extend the enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies that are set to expire, which is a significant demand from Democrats. Instead, it guarantees a future Senate vote on this matter, although there are no guarantees that such an extension will ultimately become law.
